India: Part II
# 25 May 2008 13:37
So, today we went to the pool. At first I thought everyone had gone without me, as I woke up and Joe wasn't in the room, but it turns out he hadn't slept and was watching TV lol.
So we got in the car and drove to the pool. There seems to be a culture here of starting things and never finishing them, as we traveled down a main road that was only half finished and so both directions of traffic were sharing a half-built road with no markings, along with pedestrians and bicycles etc.
The pool was quite nice actually, and the majority of the patrons were not Indian, as it is apparently too expensive so the only Indians there were workers or wealthy people. It was pretty hot, so I didn't really protest about going in the pool, and I actually used suntan lotion for like the first time since Turkey (199-something, lol).
As it's Jenn's birthday we had a roast dinner, with gravy I had brought from home, and with some vegetables we got from the street seller down the road while trying to avoid some loopy man who was trying to grab me, and some kid who was trying to get my drink. I think the kid stopped following us after he tripped over a rock. hehe.
Hopefully off to what passes for a pub here later. :D
