Rise of the Machines # 31 July 2003 18:55
I saw it earlier at an advance screening before its UK release tomorrow.
It felt to me as if they were trying to be better than the Matrix, instead of trying to be a Terminator movie. I still think that T2 is by far the better of the series. Nick Stahl is a brilliant John Connor, he continues Edward Furlongs performance perfectly. The script is good, and adds more to the characters and future war. Schwarzenegger's performance was okay. He isn't as believable in my opinion as in the previous movies, if he decides not to sign up for T4, I'm okay with that, but I'd still prefer he be in it. The humourous parts of it weren't as subtle as they were under James Cameron, and I still feel that he should have had a role in filming the movie. I also think the soundtrack lacked a certain something, it needed more of that industrial theme we hear in T1+2. The ending requests a sequel, and I'm sure it'll get one, probably picking the story up 20-25 years after judgement day, and showing the end of the war. Special effects were good, but at times it looked like a video game.. . Especially the closeups. A couple of things I'm concerned about are the fact that when they left the garage, the guy in the shop picked up the phone and, I presume, called the police. I thought SkyNet had taken control of communications? Also Schwarzenegger refers to himself as a "T101" this is incorrect, he is a T800, Model 101. Someone messed up there. The plot is adequate for a good movie, but in parts it just seems to be a piece of string holding a couple of action sequences together, but I have to praise them for the perfect explanation of what SkyNet is.
I still might go see it again next week, though... :) Labels: films

Grr... just got back from my driving lesson. Usually when I get back, I just pull up on the road in front of my house. But my dad decided to park his car there, so when I got back, my instructor made me drive to the end of the road and do the most awkward 3-point-turn ever, then come back up and reverse-park next to my dads car.

So I finally went to the doctors today about those pains in my chest that keep happening at random times... And he had a listen to my lungs and heart and is convinced it's just a case of a twitchy muscle, but I got to let him know if it gets more serious.
lol... I got myself worked up for nothing... Some of you probably know I'm a serial worrier, and will worry about anything. Plus I always expect the worst... Damn, the things I was expecting him to say... Well anyway... it looks like it's all clear! Yay! Labels: crap, doctors
Late Entry # 24 July 2003 20:25
This is for yesterday... I'd forget my brain if... Oh wait, never mind.
Anyways... Yesterday I was working 7.15 - 'til 4, I was in the kitchen, on grill, looks like they finally found someone else who can do drive-thru. The schools have broken up for the summer holidays, so we have extra staff during the day now. Unfortunatly it's also busier in the day, which leaves less time for slacking. Anyways, everything was going fine, the shift went pretty quickly, but then I realised that both my parents were at work, meaning I had no lift home. Worse still, I had no money so I decided to walk back home. Remind me never to do that again... I left work at about 4.10, and at 4.50 I was only just crossing the town boundary. Not wanting to walk all the way home, I phoned my mum to wait for me when she finished at 5pm, luckily she did, but it wasn't until 5.10 that I actually got there - she'd only just finished, so it worked alright in the end. Just back from work, was on a 4-11. I haven't got changed yet, so if you see me on the webcam in my unifrom, that's why.
I was in kitchen for a change, and on grill side. For the first couple of hours I was getting the piss taken out of me for no apparent reason, but fortunatly Mark was off at 6, so I got a bit off peace after that.
When I was on my break, The Lost Work: Jurassic Park came on, and I'm quite annoyed that I missed the best parts... Even though I do have it on DVD anyway.
Later on we shut one of the Hoob's toys into (full) the soap dispenser, hehe... 'tis funny, was a repeat of the past incident when we did the same thing with a Clifford toy. Only the first time round, it had previosuly been dunked in a cup of water and left in the freezer.
Then I had to take off two of the grills :( I'd never done one before, so theyfinally got round to showing me... Damn it's hard on the arms, all that scrubbing. I think I need my elbow grease back, they're feeling a little cranky...
Anyways, I need to get changed. Labels: classic McMoments, films, work
Timewaster # 14:52
I'm just posting this to waste a bit more of my dad's time.
I told him I had to check something online before I went to work, but when he finished what he was doing, he wanted to leave to drop me off straight away, so I'm just wasting time here...

I don't know what to do... Part of me wants to forgive him, and apologise for being such an arse, yet I'm still mad at him, and sent a not-to-pilote reply to an email... I wish I could make the right choice, instead of constantly screwing everything up.
And on to other news... I'm still single, having not yet plucked up the courage to ask that girl out... I dunno whether it would work ut anyway, she's 3 years younger than me... Plus I dunno what to say, or how to go about this... Argh... If I hadn't devoted my life to my comp perhaps I'd be with someone already... Labels: crap, friends

I'm not in the best of moods right now, so it would not be a good idea for anyone to try annoying me. Last night some of you may have been asked by me who "frog maul" was on AIM... Well I know now who it is, and I'm so pissed off at them. Any respect I had left for them has now completely evaporated. I don't care whether I deserved it or not, and it just further enforces my opinion that nobody can be trusted. I hope you're laughing at your joke, because I'm certainly not, and don't ever come near GB again. Labels: crap, friends, websites

Well what a day... was on an open, that's 6am 'til 2pm. Got to work at 5.50, and the opening manager wasn't there yet, but I expected that. What I didn't expect was for the delivery lorry to be there already, as it usually doesn't arrive until 6.30... So I just had a little chat with the window cleaner while we waited... Fortunatly it was fairly good managers on the open, otherwise I might have had to shoot myself... But anyway, Me and Andy N. were doing delivery (half the staff are called Andy, so there's bound to be at least one more on the same shift as me) It wasn't a particularly huge delivery, but the 30 crates of shake and sundae mix plus the 20 boxes of fries almost killed us, lol. Anyways, after delivery I was helping train a new staff member on the front counter, thankfully it hasn't been as hot today as yesterday, because I'd have just been hiding in the walk-in chiller all day.
When I got home my sister was watching Grease, so I had to suffer that for a few minutes, before I started watching something on TV... I can't remember what it was now, so it couldn't have been very interesting... Labels: films, weather, work

Damn, it was so hot last night that I could hardly sleep, but when I did I had this crazy dream about a spider in our bathroom, that could communicate telepathically... It also said it was a robot, but not all spiders where robots, but there were others. And every time we shut the bathroom door, it opened it again, saying it was too hot with the door closed... lol Labels: dreams, weather
Crazy Afternoon # 15 July 2003 15:13
My alarm went of at 9am, but I ignored it, and was woke up at 2pm by the phone - it was my driving instructor wanting to know where I was - Oops.
So I pretended I couldn't find the key to the front door, and quickly got dressed and rush outside. Luckily he didn't seem to mind. So we drove done to Kidderminster and out towards Bewdley. The topic of todays lesson was roundabouts and three-point turns. I'm pleased to say that I successfully did my first 3-point turn without hitting the kerb, yay!
Then when I eventually got home, I noticed it is around 92 degrees Farenheit, so my wishes for air conditioning in the car were not unjustified.... Labels: driving, weather

Whoah... Weird dream last night...
First one I was in the army for some reason, and I was made a Leiutenant. Strange thing was that everyone else in this army were people I knew... Anyways, we were having lunch when all of a sudden, this volcano errupted and we had to go stop it. Yeah, I know, how the hell do you stop a volcano errupting? Later we were in some kind of convoy and we were attacked by TIE fighters...
Second dream I had, I was a terminator or something, and I marched into a school and... TURNED ALL THE LIGHTS OFF! Oh no! Then the headmistress of this weird school appeared and wanted to know what I was doing there. But I woke up instead.
Pure craziness... Labels: dreams
Getting Old... # 08 July 2003 22:50
Well, today I am no longer a teenager, having recieved birthday cards presents and cake for the 20th time. I have to say this hasn't been the most brilliant of birthdays, it was only mediocre by any days standards, and it went a little something like this...
I was woken up at 11:45am having overslept, although with it being my birthday and all I should think I had the right to stay in bed... But we were going out to the local pub, The Brinton Arms, for lunch. We walked down there as soon as I was ready, and met my grandparents (from my mums side of the family). Altogether there was me, my mum, my sister Natalie, and my two grandparents. My dad was working, my other sister, Jennifer, was at school, and my other grandparents weren't invited because they smoke and we always eat in a non-smoking area. The Brinton Arms was refurbished last year, and I have to say they have ruined it completly! it used to be like a traditional British pub, but now it's more like a restaurant inside - I know all the old regulars have moved to other pubs like The Stagborough Arms - But anyway aside from that, it is very nice and is well decorated with friendly staff. Unfortunatly though, it is still a Banks' pub, so I had to make do with Fosters lager as I can't stand the tasteless drainwater that is produced for Banks'. So, we went in and ordered our food and everything. The meal was nice, it was also hot, and I can still feel the burn inside my mouth from that potato... I just had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. In case you don't know what Yorkshire pudding is, it isn't really a pudding, lol, look it up in Google or something. Anyway, that came with gravy, peas, carrot, boiled potatos and roast potatos. Hungry yet? For pudding I had Chocolate Fudge cake with ice-cream. That was so filling that I couldn't finish it, hehe. So we finished up and went back home. My nan had brought some old photographs over so we were looking at some embarrassing pictures of me. Thankfully I wasn't the only one there was pictures of - nobody was spared from the wraith of the old photo album... I tell ya, my mum has had some weird hairstyles in the past, lol.
So after my grandparents went, I got bored and watched The Empire Strikes Back until some more people came round. Umm... That's about it really... I'll I got so far is £90 and a Star Wars Episode II Monopoly game. I knew there was a reason I treated myself to that Lego Star Destroyer. Labels: birthday, family
