Was at my cousin's bands gig tonight, well last night now...
Was a pretty good night: The first band wasn't that good. A couple of their stuff was alright though. The next band were really good, and so was my cousins.
Far From Silence they are called... I may have mentioned it before already. I'm so tierd at the moment that I don't remember. Anyways, get over to their site and download their sample MP3. It has a few short samples of a few of their tracks.

Unfortunatly I had to leave before they finished, due to the fact that I didn't really want to miss the last train home: Being stranded in Birmingham isn't a fun thing to do...
I still owe Allan a drink from the other night...

Ack, In boredom I just worked out how much water was in that trough (see previous post)...
About 100 gallons!
(120 US gallons)

Was dead at work again today. It's usually like this after Christmas, what with most people wanting to go on diets to slim down after their chocolates and big dinners and stuff.
Anyways. It was raining heavily this morning, and we noticed a slight drip from the ceiling in the corner of the dining area, so I sent someone out with a bucket to point under it, and as the minutes ticked by it got worse, until it was a constant stream of water pouring down through one of the light fittings. Not to safe, methinks.
Anyway, the managers were dealing with Securicor's delivery of change for the safe, so we had to deal with it until they had finished. When they finally got the chance to see what the fuss was about they seemed quite shocked, but luckily the rain stopped, and so did the leak.
Still, we had to solve the problem before it rained again, so that meant going up on the roof. Donna and I went up to check that it hadn't got clogged by leaves, and we eventually made it up there after I spent five minutes stuck up the ladder trying to figure out which bloody key opened the lock - they really need some labels on those keys - anyway, we got up there and it was my first time on the roof. It's looks a lot smaller than it looks from underneath, lol.
So the entire roof slopes down to one side, where there are a series of troughs about 2ft x 8ft for catching the water, each with a downpipe in them. The end downpipe was blocked and the trough was full of water. Bear in mind that the trough is about a foot deep, so that's a fair amount of water trapped there. So Donna pokes the leaves out with a stick and as the water went down the pipe we hoped that it was going down the drain and not down on top of the customers... Although that would have been funny. hehe.
Rest of the day was mainly boring... Just normal stuff. Such is my wonderful life.

Was in kitchen again!
What is this madness? Twice in one year!?
Although I was kinda pissed off when my bus home didn't turn up and I had to wait an hour for a lift home... Grrr... Evil buses...

Cool, went for a drink with my cousin. He'd got fed up of listening to smaller cousins whining. (they will remain nameless... *coughOliviacough* ) So we went to the Brinton Arms... Better not tell my dad because he's still boycotting them. lol
Anyways we were chatting about stuff, and I got the tickets for his band's gig...
January 11th 2004
Venue: Flapper & Firkin, Birmingham City Centre
Doors/Tickets: 7.15pm. £3 advance £3.50 on door

Went round to my nan's house for her 72nd birthday. It was supposed to be a family event, but everyone else seems to have made different arrangements to what was originally planned, so my cousins weren't there... :(

Hehe, got an extra long driving lesson!
My instructor turned up half an hour early and said he had to pop into the Carphone Warehouse in Kidderminster to get someone to look at his phones hands-free kit. So, I drove up there and waited a few minutes for him to sort out his phone, and then by that time it was time for my lesson, and I got the full hour from there.
Mwahaha! More driving practise for me!
Also, I booked my theory test... Tuesday 27th Jan, 5pm. Although that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Whoo, I got a day in the kitchen for a change.
Maybe all that hinting about not liking drive thru and front counter is finally paying off...
# 03 January 2004 15:43
Aww, it started raining at about 10am and all the snow got washed away... Grrr... St00pid rain spoiling all my fun!
