we have heat!!
# 31 March 2006 00:36

yeah so we got up at like 8am so the people could come in to start, and from then on we had no water or gas cos they had to turn it all off for the central heating toi be fitted.
I had to go into Kiddy to get train tickets for monday anyways, so on the way back I went into work for breakfast and to use the toilet. :P
So I get back and the guys need to get to the pump under the floor of my bedroom, so I had to spend 15mins or so moving my bedroom around so that they could get to the pump...
Then I fell asleep in the living room for a couple hours then started getting ready for work. It was about this time that they finished... typical. lol
So anyways I wwent into work a bvit early so I could get a coffee.

It was pretty quiet so we were out of the close early enough... But i get home and my mum has mived stuff around in my room so I can get into bed, but i can't get to my bloody computer so I am now using the crappy one downstairs which has the worlds most horrible keyboard. Hence all the typos in this blog.

But at least we have heating again,. I guess.

:]

This post is sponsored by DiloRaptor, who isn't really holding a gun to my head forcing me to update my blog! Really! *shifty eyes*

Since my last few posts:

  • My parents said the India thing isn't happening, which is good (cos I didn't want them to go) but bad (I wanted the house!) :P
  • My car failed it's MOT but only needed a couple of little things doing so they were done and my car is all set for another year.
  • We are getting a new central heating boiler on Thursday, yay! Excellent, eh? The weather starts warming up and we get our heating fixed after a month of freezing. ;)

So, today then. Hmm i went to bed at like 6am or something after spending mucho time talking to John and a couple of other peoples on MSN. Although I had my alarm set for 10am so I could go down town and get my hair cut I kindass didn't get up until 4.30pm. :|
I went online for a bit and Josh from work was online, and said he had also only just got up, hehe. Then I watched Jurassic Park, cos I realised I haven't watched it in years and it is such an amazingly awesome movie... Hmm yeah thats about it really.

I got my shift managers course next week. OMGWTFBBQ!?
    Scarey stuff.

I might redesign the site... v12 is getting kinda old. I have a v13 in the works already, but I think I'll scrap that one cos I had a better idea... Hmmness.

And now, I shall leave you with a ROFLcopter.

    Empire at War
    # 07 March 2006 18:44

Well at last I have decided where Star Wars: Empire at War fits into the grand scheme of gamingness. The highly anticipated RTS from Petroglyph Studios, comprised of developers formerly of Westwood Studios the creators of the legendary Command & Conquer RTS series, had some fairly high expectations from me... But alas I think it ultimately failed to deliver the goods we were looking for.

While it may be the greatest Star Wars RTS we have seen so far, that isn't saying much, as Galactic Battlegrounds and Force Commander were hardly award-worthy.
The graphics are awesome, and the gameplay is smooth. But the missions and levels are so tiny, IMO. Where are the epic battles and scenarios that require a master of skill and cunning? Umm... On vacation to the beaches of Corellia, I think.

The game seems to be dogged by command-point-style unit limits, and a fairly limited amount of units are available. The space and land battled seem to have little to do with eachother, and I wonder whether Petroglyph should have chose just one or the other, rather than having a go at both.

Perhaps they lost their touch. EA must have zapped the skill from them... Maybe its just old age. "My confidence in them has been shaken," as Anakin Skywalker once put it.

    *sigh*

So, it is with a heavy heart that I award Empire at War a lowly grade of:
    C-
