Mission: McDonalds # 28 May 2006 20:35
(Edit, 29 May 06: Thanks to DR for the title of this entry!)
Well, that was a disaster... lol, I had today's open at work, and it was a disaster even before the day had begun. :P
I was on an 8-4 on Saturday and forgot to take a key home with me for the morning, but never mind, I thought; I'd just pop in later to pick one up. But I fell asleep instead, and woke up to see a missed call on my phone from Anna (Saturday's closing manager) and in my half-asleepness I thought "WTF?" and ignored it :P Then I had to go pick my sister up from Bewdley and my parents up from Kidder at about midnight. Mr Bradbury and his mates decided to try and race me along the Worcester Road but I was havingnone of it, lol. But anyways, I get home and think Ah crap! So I phone work, but they had already left. I phoned Anna, no answer... So I start systematically phoning all the other managers in a state of extreme shitting-myself! :O Only Nicky answered though, and she was just going to bed and didn't have a key anyways, but eventually Sam got back to me and told Anna to call me. So I had to go on a mission!!! I drove to Yates' in Kidder and met Anna, who gave me her house key so I could go in her house and get the key to work. I wasn't sure how to get to her house, but eventually I managed to remember how to get to that part of town (I haven't been to that part of town since my driving lessons about 2 years ago, lol), but could I find her damn street? NO! lol, I was driving up and down for about half an hour. If I had of remembered my glasses I would have been fine. heh. After a couple of panicky phonecalls I got there in the end.
So eventually at about 3am I manage to get to sleep... bear in mind I had to get up at 5am, lol.
BUT! That wasn't the end, oh no! We get in and one of my openers hasn't turned up, but we were okay. There was a note in the diary saying we needed scrambled egg mix from the other store in town, but I didn't have anyone who had a car until 9am, so my other option was to go myself when another manager was on at 8am. But then she phoned in sick... OMG! Then my opener that hadn't turned up phoned in saying he couldn't come in because he had a toothache, LMAO. Boy, we all had fun laughing about that one all day. hehe! But yeah, then Drive Thru window 3 was jammed shut, and we had to force it open. And Josh never turned up, which we were expecting cos his alarm clock broke. Luckily Duane turned up early so I asked him if he could go get Josh cos he only lives about 10 mins away from the store, so he did that while we all rushed to set up everything so we didn't get pwned later by customers.
We managed in the end, Karla got my egg mix from the town store and we were alright after that. Got a bit busy about 9.30 but we didn't have any major difficulties.
Then later I did the ordering for Wednesday's delivery just before I went home. First time I done the ordering myself, so I could still have done it wrong! But I think it'll be fine.
Phew! That's the biggest blog I done for a while. Fell asleep about 4pm, after some dinner, and been online since about 6 or something. Mmhmm. That's about it now I think, lol.
Haha, just to top off the day I'm having trouble getting this entry to publish. Bloody typical! :P Take care, ppl! x
zomg! Oreos! # 26 May 2006 21:49
ZOMG! My mum found OREOS!!! In a shop in High Street of all places, omg crazyness. It's my new favourite shop. Well, no it isn't, but I shall be visiting them for Oreos now and again!
^_^
Mmhmm # 19:49
So, after six months I'm single. I was pretty sad before but now I'm okay. After I had some sleep and chance to think I'm alright. I mean, I shouldn't let it get me down cos we are still awesome friends, and I really don't want that to change. :D
In other news my sister has friends round cos it was her birthday yesterday... How annoying.
Take care, ppl! Andy x
# 25 May 2006 11:25
"Hello, Andy Beard Taxi's, how can I help?" "I need to go to school now." "Am I not allowed to sleep after the close any more?" "Okay you can have an hour. But hurry up."
>_>
<_<
Bah.
Eep # 03:15
Well that wasn't a good shift... lol it's like I have 3 days off and they save everything up for me. :P
Apparently it's been quiet the last two days, and then it was busy on my shift, I had one less person, bloody Kieran phoning in sick--seems to be a pattern emerging there--and the Bitch Brigade decided to come into have a good ol' moan at me.
Moaning old woman #1: I had been trying to get dining area sorted, even going round there myself at one point to get some of it tidy until I had to jump in the kitchen so James could get his break. It was during that time that A woman came to the counter to tell me that the dining area was a disgrace, and wouldn't give two seconds to apologise. She asked for head office's address so I just gave it her, hoping she would go away, but no she had to eat-in and pick a fight with Michelle when I sent her around to clean up.
Moaning old woman #2: Apparently we aren't allowed to clean anything while there is still food cooking. And you can't put a bag of food on the same surface as a cloth that has been there for two seconds. Sheesh, it's not like the cloth was in the fries or something... Crazyness. I think she had come in just to cause an argument though, cos when I sent Kim out back to cool down the woman was still trying to argue with her.
Oh, and I kinda was talking for an hour and a half outside afterwork with Dan & Kim. LOL
# 24 May 2006 13:22
there's like nobody online and i'm so rediculously bored. nearly everyone that is online is set Away...

# 02:07
Feeling "bleh" not something i wanna blog about though so no blog today sorry.

Yay moderatorness! # 22 May 2006 04:48
Yup, I have just been made a moderator at JPLegacy's forums! :D
And I didn't pester Ty or bribe him at all.
*shifty eyes*
Eurovision & Stuff # 21 May 2006 21:53
Yup yup, so it was teh Eurovision Song Contest yesterday and I watched it a bit. Yeah, I know it's kinda sad, but I think it's funny, what with Terry Wogan's commentary about the predictable voting of certain countries...
The contest was the usual mix of bizarre, awful, and catchy tunes, and was won by Finland this year who quite unexpectedly entered a 'rock horror' band called Lordi, who sang about the coming of the Arockalypse and the Day of Rockening. It was quite a spectacular performance with a lot of pyrotechnics and such. Definitely worthy of the win.
Russia's Dima Bilan came second and was pretty good too, I thought.
The others were pretty "meh" really. Can't really remember most of them, oh except the German entry which made us joke about the American-ness of it. Seriously it was an American-style country song by Texas Lightning. Crazy stuff.
The voting was pretty predictable as usual, with the Scandinavian countries voting for eachother and the former Yugoslavian countries voting for eachother, and Cyprus giving Greece 12 points. lol, politics eh? Just can't escape it.

Otherwise not much going on. Watched half of Brokeback Mountain, lol I had to put subtitles on for a bit cos the accents were causing me to roll it back a bit at times, haha. Updated the site history page of the site, and thought about starting the section about me and friends and stuff... Hmm, thats about it really.
Catch you laters x
fun-ness # 18 May 2006 03:21
So... I went downstairs to watch that Brokeback Mountainy thing, but my sister was down there (I thought she was in bed) so we got talking instead, just about random stuff... and then the subject of an, uhh, 'incident' which involved a member of our family, a carpet in the bathroom, and something that should have been in the toilet... I say no more. :P
But after that I went into the kitchen for food, and dragged my sister along because "all the fun happens in the kitchen" as we have discovered on numerous occasions where ice-cream has ended up all over the place...
So, we opened the icecream... and got the chocolate sauce... and my sister slipped. *shifty eyes*

And then when I opened the fridge this permanent marker pen appeared...

Also there was a bunch of bananas that now has "I am a doorhandle" written on it. We are such good children. And of course I always act my age. *shiftier eyes*
You know it's funny ;) x
RIP # 17 May 2006 23:01
John's grampa passed away earlier today. Please remember him and the family in your thoughts. :(
Rest in Peace, Edward Gill. †
Not my week is it? # 00:59
So Tuesdays close was better, but it's still not my week, lol.
We ran out of Mac buns and lettuce, and the sundae side of the shake machine wouldn't pump through on the close so we had to take it apart while it was full of ice-cream. And Danny had a nosebleed at about 9pm and I had to cover D/T 1 for 10 mins while he sorted that out.
Later though, Danny was doing a 'trash-walk' (that's the offical Americanised term, we usually call it a litter-pick) round the carpark and he comes back inside a few minutes later refusing to do it because (and I quote:) "a hedgehog just jumped out of the bushes and scared the shit out of me". Honestly, lol, just imagine if it had of been a tiger or something that had escaped from the safari park.
Anyways, peace x
fucking comput0r!!! # 16 May 2006 00:57
Argh, the close was going alrightish... Andy S no showed but it was alright. Then Nick didn't enter the morning breaks and waste, which wasn't that big a deal... Until the computer fucked up, lol. It crashed while I was entering cash into the computer and I had to restart it. And restarting this comp is never a good thing, so when it loaded back up it had lost some data. so a phone call to the other store to see how to fix this problem... But But yeah it set me back about an hour behind schedule, so while the crew close was finished about 12.30 I was there til about 1am. Oh well, Hopefully Ad will stay abit over tomorrow so I can explain to him what happened.
Ehh my blog is turning into a boring work blog. I need to do something else. lol, like make it up or something :P
Celebration 4? # 15 May 2006 02:06
Star Wars Celebration for is rumoured for Los Angeles in May 2007. Ehh, kinda scuppers the Galactic Basic meet plans if it is, cos I know people will want to go to that and I prolly won't be able to... So I'm kinda miffed at that. I'll remain sceptical though, cos C3 was announced like 18 months beforehand, and this supposed C4 is like less than 12 months away. Hmm. I dunno.
I went to the garage after work to get some air in me tyres and somehow got oil or dirt or something all over my hands and rubbed my face. I was like WTF when I got home. lol
Hmm yeah so thats about it for today. Played Civilisation IV a bit and everyone kept declaring war on me, the bastards. lol
mmhmm... boring blog. yay til next time. x
bloody typical # 13 May 2006 15:42
I saw it coming. Nice wet weather for my Saturday off. *rolls eyes* It's only my second Saturday off work so far this year, could have at least been sunny. lol
But OMGWTFBBQ!?!?>!?1! PRE-ORDERED MY PS3!!1! I'm 11th on the list at GameStation in Kidderminster, so hopefully they'll have at least that many of the consoles for release day, lol. Else I'll be pissed :P
In other news I bout a couple DVDs... Brokeback Mountain (note: yes I know what it's about.. Problem?) and King Kong (2005), although King Kong was really just because I didn't want to by Brokeback Mountian on it's own. ^_^;; Also the girl on the til managed to tempt me with half price 200g Cabury's Dairy Milk bar... Mmmm...
According to the back of the wrapper:
Enjoying chocolate as part of a balanced lifestyle can play a part in making people feel calmer, more relaxed and generally happier. Choclate gives us an emotional boost, which triggers similar 'good feelings' to those we experience when listening to music, going on holiday, or being in love!
Wow! And here I just thought it tasted nice. =P
I seem to be addicted to Panic! At the Disco. *shifty eyes* Might go play Civ4 in a bit. Hmm.
Hmm... My iTunes seems to be behaving rather odd. Some ratings have changed themselves... and the play counts have jumped too. Now, I know I love P!ATD, but there is no way I have listened to "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage" 109 times. And apparently a Jack Johnson song has been played 107 times... But that's a song of my sisters, and she hasn't used this comp for months, and I sure as hell dunno who he is. lol "Battle Music #7" from Total Annihilation - 101 times? If I listed to it ONCE that was it. Totally weird. I must have a computer ghost or something.
Oh well, ttyl! x
eek! polices! # 01:38
lol so I just went to pick Nat up from Bewdley, she was waiting at the Texaco garage, and I wasn't sure where it was so I was looking around thinking where is it, and saw a police car, and suddenly realised that I was going 40mph in a 30 zone. THEN I suddenly realise that there is a speedbump in the road, so I nudge the brakes a bit, but still hit the ramp rather hard. The police car went past but there was another one behind it who saw me, and after I had passed him, to my horror he turned around to follow me. But he didn't stay following thank god. Must have turned back when he realised that I wasn't going to speed knowing that he was behind me :P
Day of boredom. And no pictures. # 12 May 2006 22:10
lol so I was gonna go take pictures for the "Your Part of the World Pics" thread at JPLegacy, but I didn't. I did get my cam ready though, and took a picture of our back garden and the sky. whoo. lol
Rest of the day I have just spent being bored... Played Civilisation IV for a bit, but my comp still seems to like revving up the CPU fan to max and making a hell of a racket while doing so... So I finished off my castle in The Sims 2. lol, I only ever seem to play it for the buildingness... XD
backdates and today # 11 May 2006 20:24
Okay, so first of all I have backdated a few posts: http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/04/crew-beard.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/04/visitor.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/04/lol-allan-left-some-of-his-food-in-our.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/05/returning-of-vegan-nourishment.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/05/ipod-radio-goodness_04.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/05/me-caffeine-addict-nevaar.php http://www.beeurd.com/blog/2006/05/i-did-it.php
So, as for today. Mark it in your diaries folks... Mike was WRONG! :O Yeah, so Mike is like the boss above the Restaurant Manager, who works between the two Kidderminster stores... And he reckons he's always right. lol, but he didn't realise that the chocolate syrup tank on the shake machine wasn't supposed to have a flow restrictor fitted in the tank outlet valve. Of course, now we told him that when he told us that the restrictor was blocked we have solkved the mystery of why the chocolate shake is always blocking up. *rolls eyes* Silly Mike.
And I am limiting myself to TWO coffees per day. 1 when I get up, and 1 when I get home from work... I may adapt it slightly for closes, so I have one before work and one when we close... but I dunno we'll see. I personally think I should cut down on my McDs intake rather than my caffiene intake, although I don't suppose either of them are the healthiest of things. heh.
Mmmhmm... Gotta get on with this sitey thing, methinks. Take care! x
version 13 # 02:35
Alright, so I have finally got round to reformatting the blog into version 13 stylee. Yay, go me. I've had to pull a lot of tricks out of the hat for this version, using PHP to have a templated header and footer for a start, reworked a popup javascript code for my picture galleries, used a couple of .htaccess redirects, and as the blog item comment pages only save as .html I have had to use .htaccess to tell the server to pretend they are .php files. XD Yeah, also learned a new PHP thingy to force a 301 Permanent Redirect through PHP rather than going through the .htaccess, and I've tidied up my CSS file a bit. Got some error pages working too, but you'll prolly only ever see the Page Not Found error 404 one... Yeah so a lots been going on since my last post about a month ago, so I'll have to backdate a few posts tomorrow to fill you in on whats been going on!
Also, If I host anything of yours for you, might wanna contact me cos it might get moved around and I assume you'll want to know where to. :P I haven't moved any of the hosted stuff yet though, although I have rearranged the domains for this server. The primary domain is now beeurd.com rather than beeurdempire.co.uk
So most of you prolly didn't get that... So I'll stop speeking in geekish and go to bed... Got work in like, 6 hrs ;)
Take care folks! x
i did it! # 00:04
Yes, I managed to go 24 hrs without coffee!
So, I went to bed about 3am I think, and I didn't have a coffee after midnight before then as usual. And I actually got a decent nights sleep! So getting up at 9am and feeling refreshed from my good sleep I didn't have my morning coffee... Oh, dear. by the time I got to work an hour later I was feeling a bit worn out already. So I sorted changover out and by noon I had a headache, most liekly a symptom of withdrawal, and took a couple of paracetamol. When I got my break I had water instead of coffee, and later on I was really feeling a great lack of concentration and was getting a bit confused. lol, like putting the heels for the double cheese where I should have been putting the crowns for the Big Macs... Erm. lol, yeah. Cashing up was such a drag, sitting down for an hour when you could really do with a coffee isn't fun. I was practically falling asleep. :P But I managed to survive and got homne, only to fall asleep at my computer desk around about 8pm... even though my music was on loud and several people where trying to talk to me on MSN messenger. So I wake up at about 10pm, and talked to John for a bit before he had to go to work :( And eventually it passes midnight, and I celebrate going 24 hrs without coffee... by having a nice mug of of coffee! XD Yeah, won't be trying that again in a hurry. I'll try to cut down gradually methinks...
Anyways, take care x
me? a caffeine addict...? NEVAAR! # 09 May 2006 20:02
lol, so I was at work earlier and my hands were all shakey, and Lyn, one of the other managers, says it is a caffiene addiction. She used to have one too so I guess she would know, lol. So tomorrow I am going to try and go 24 hrs without coffee! XD
iPod Radio Goodness! # 04 May 2006 17:36
YAY! My iPod transmitter thingy is here, now finally I can listen to my music in the car without having to turn it up really loud just so I can't hear the cassette adapter making a racket.
Never mind the fact that it is supposedly illegal to use it in the UK, but meh. That's just an old outdated law against pirate radio stations... Which is kinda null and void in this age where anyone can set up an internet radio station. I don't think FM radio waves are as coveted as they once were. Anyways, whatever.
the returning of the vegan nourishment # 01 May 2006 15:34
So we took a trip to Allan's flat earlier today--I had to drag Nat along cos I didn't want to get lost in Stourbridge on my own, lol--and just as we were pulling up there was Gav outside the flat. Hmm... I thought Allan had kicked him out. Oh well, that was kinda handy, cos Allan wasn't in and we were debating whether or not we would be able to fit his food through the letterbox, or if indeed he had one. So, Gav solved that by taking it in for us. :)
