Ben Aatar
Dougie Poynter (McFly)

Ben was discovered by Kotor Ami’s scouts at a young age and brought to his Dark Jedi training academy. In 10 ABY he became the second apprentice of the dark lord, and formed a strong friendship with fellow apprentice, Jay Darksider. They shared several adventures together, including one time where they were chased by four-metre-high flesh eating spiders. Ben’s main training focus was in his talent with the Force, as he was more adept than most students at the academy. He also had a keen interest in history and law. In 14 AY, a third and final apprentice was chosen, a devaronian named Treag. He and Ben did not get on well, but it was Jay who bore the brunt of Treag’s scorn.

At one point Kotor gave Jay and Treag a mission in which they would eventually be forced to work together. Ben accompanied Jay on this mission to the mostly abandoned mining world of Mersen, where they discovered an ancient starship of a design several thousand years old and venturing further into the complex they discovered the dark-side wielder named Tomas Arkane, who had been imprisoned in a stasis field centuries before, and released him. With help from Kotor Ami, Arkane was able to restore his starship to working order, and left Telcor to try to rebuild his family’s broken legacy.

In 19 ABY, when Ben was 15 he was awarded his first ship, an Armed Star Courier similar to the vessel used by the Sith Lord Darth Maul, decades earlier. Shortly afterwards Kotor launched his plan to attack the New Republic at Coruscant. Their attack was repelled, however, and Ben was forced to flee Kotor’s flagship, Golden Age, in his newly acquired Sith Infiltrator. He returned to Telcor, and the remnants of Kotor’s forces began an internal conflict which was not resolved until Jay returned in 27 ABY.

Jay had been surprised to find other survivors from the Disciples of Kun, and while retrieving his Master’s Holocron, he was faced by his archrival, Treag, and slew him. He was also pleasantly surprised to find Ben. Ben pledged his allegiance to Jay, whose return had ended the power struggle between him and Treag. Together, he and Jay started to build a new civilization on Telcor, using refugees from the Yuuzhan Vong war, and former rebels from the New Sith Empire in the unknown regions. Around this time Ben took on his apprentice the Zabrak female Hajnal Eketh. Although Jay was Head of State of Telcor, Ben ruled in his place as Chief Executor, due to his greater knowledge of politics.

At the Battle of Coruscant Ben helped extract many valuable resources that were trapped in the vaults far below the former capital world. They succeded in liberating billions of credits for his cause, but Hajnal was killed when a ceiling collapsed after enduring heavy fire from New Republic troops. Jay was sent on the run from his friends Drake and Tsl, after gO stole a starship belonging to Tsl, and Ben took Dev with him on a trip to track him down.

In 30 ABY, the former leader of the NSE rebels, Nelan Ralen, started an uprising, and imprisoned Ben. Jay came to his rescue and they decided it was time to make a treaty with the Galactic Alliance. With GA help, Telcor was liberated, and Ralen defeated.
