Bucket was first purchased by the Imperial loyalist Wilsher Zelk, and activated in 2 ABY on Rori, the moon of Naboo. He accompanied Wilsher on many adventures across several planets, including Naboo, Lok, and Tatooine.
Bucket developed a quirky personality, and deliberately erased the identifying digits of his operating number, leaving only R3-?? remaining. He also has a curious dislike for other droids, especially what he perceives as inferior models of astromech droid.
At some point before 8 ABY, the droid became the property of Jareth Daragon, a weapons dealer who often supplied the New Republic and its supporters. When Jareth was killed during his first mission for the New Republic’s newly formed Revenant Squadron, Bucket attached himself to the squadron’s slicer, Aston Kendall. He chose to stay with the squadron to satisfy his taste for the excitement that is usually lacking in a droid’s service.
In 26 ABY, sometime after leaving Aston’s employ, he was discovered by Jayden Sedri-Rakd, and they formed a partnership, mostly because Bucket liked Jay’s Sith Infiltrator and wanted to play with it, figuring it would have an interesting nav-computer to speak to.
He has decided to stick around with Jay for a while, as he gets to play with lots of cool starships.
